What led you to your current position as an Office Manager/Marketing Coordinator for Innovative?
I had recently purchased a condo in Edmonton and I was looking for a position in the area that had long-term career potential. I came across Innovative’s ad for an Office Manager/Marketing Coordinator and I almost couldn’t believe how well it fit with my educational background - I have a diploma in Business Administration and a bachelor degree in Marketing. After reviewing the ad and doing some research on Innovative, it seemed like both the position and the company would be a perfect fit for me. I was offered the job the day after my interview, and have loved being here ever since. We really do have such a great team of people here, and it’s amazing to watch the company grow.
What is your favourite part of your job?
I have always been a very organized and detail-oriented person, so administrative support is something that comes natural to me. My real passion, however, lies with marketing. I love everything about it - doing research behind-the-scenes, connecting with clients through social media, planning events and designing ads. I really enjoy learning about what drives people, why they make the decisions that they make and what they are looking for when deciding on a particular service or organization. It is always a great day when I get to tap into my creative mindset at my job.
What are your favourite activities to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my family. I have a three year old son and watching him grow has been the most incredible journey. Outside of being a mom, I really enjoy music, road trips and camping.
What personal mantra do you live by?
I truly believe that you are in charge of your own life. Sometimes, it can be easy to sit back, throw your hands up and blame circumstance when life deals you a bad hand. It’s important to get back up and give 100% towards changing your circumstances if you don’t like where you are now. Life will eventually reward those who work hard for what they have.
